Had a fantastic dinner at Asmak Seafood Restaurant in Vizhinjam. The food was flavorful and spicy in true Kerala style. Loved the prawns and fish egg fry—they were cooked perfectly with plenty of aromatics and spice. The parottas were soft and fresh, and the curry was rich and delicious. The grilled fish was not wow since I had tasted better grilled fish from other restaurants around Vizhinjam The special Sulaimani of Vizhinjam was the perfect finish to the meal. One of the highlights is the location: you get a great view of the Vizhinjam harbor and the fishing boats, which adds a special touch to the dining experience, especially at night with all the harbor lights. Service was good, and the staff were polite and helpful. Overall, a great spot if you’re craving spicy seafood and local delicacies!

Though we frequently visit vizhinjam for sea food its the first time i tried asmak. We got a table on first floor that offers a nice view of the lit up vizhinjam port. Ordered prawns, fish eggs, mussels and punnara meen. First of all liked their masala very much. Its a well balanced flavour and goes really well with the fish flavour too. All fishes were fresh and tasty and cooked to perfection. They served really small mussels which was a disappointment and the taste wasnt good too. Sodes we ordered porotta, appam and puttu and all were served hot. The have set up a nice ambiance too with wood and lighting(over lighting). It was a good dining experience.

A good place to go if you love seafood & are visiting Vizhinjam. They have second floor seating with a view of the container terminal. The food was really tasty and very affordable. You actually go yourself & visually select your own fish, which they cook to your preference. Definitely a must visit place.

I had a wonderful experience at Asmak Seafood Restaurant! I tried a variety of seafood dishes, and each one was delicious. The quality of the food was top-notch, and you could really taste the freshness. The staff were extremely friendly and made sure we had a great time. I’m also a big fan of their Sulaimani – it’s absolutely perfect! Definitely recommend this place for anyone craving fresh, tasty seafood. Will definitely be coming back!

The main highlight of Asmak Seafood Restaurant is, without a doubt, the food itself. You can walk right up to the kitchen area where the fresh fish is displayed, pick the one you want based on size and weight, and they immediately tell you the price. The catch is simple-they mainly prepare it as a grill or a fry, depending on your choice, and it will be served fresh to your table. Naturally, there’s a slight delay in serving, but that’s expected because the fish has to be marinated, cooked fresh, and then brought out. During evenings and holidays the place gets quite busy, so it’s best to reserve a table. The process is smooth: choose your fish, tell them whether you prefer grill or fry, get a token, and wait for it to be served. The first-floor seating is beautiful, very well maintained, and offers an amazing view of the Vizhinjam International Seaport, which adds to the whole experience. We didn’t just stick to fish dishes-we also ordered coin parotta and a few other sides, all of which were tasty and well-prepared. But the real surprise highlights were the Goli Sodas (we started with one and ended up ordering several, especially the green apple flavor) and the Sulaimani (so refreshing that we kept ordering more). To our delight, when we checked the bill, the Sulaimani wasn’t even charged-making it feel more like a thoughtful customary gesture from the restaurant. The coordination of the staff, the cleanliness, the warm welcome, and the way everything is managed made the whole visit truly memorable. For us, it will remain one of those food experiences we’ll always remember, and it’s a place we will definitely visit again with family and friends. Absolutely deserving of a 5-star rating. Highly recommended.

We visited this seafood restaurant with friends on a night out and were thoroughly impressed. They cook selected fish live right in front of you, which makes the experience both fresh and interactive. The grilled fish is cooked to perfection and is very reasonably priced.
